چکیده
Schwannoma, also known as neurilemmoma, is a slowly growing benign neurogenic tumor, originating from the Schwann cells of nerve sheath. Schwannoma can arise various nerves such cranial nerves, spinal autonomic and most common in head neck area. However, lingual very rare clinical findings are non-specific. Therefore, when it occurs submandibular space, difficult to differentiate them other tumors, making accurately diagnose before surgery. by reporting case that was misdiagnosed for gland we intend understand characteristics radiological nerve. The tumor successfully treated without complications using da Vinci robotic surgical system, which provides wide field view wrist joint structure.

Ancient Schwannoma of the Trigeminal Nerve Mimicking High Grade Lesion
Ancient schwannomas rarely found in the central nervous system and ancient change in an intracranial schwannoma (intracranial portion of the trigeminal nerve) is extremely rare. A seventy-year man presented with headache of 3 months duration and one episode of generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Imaging findings were suggestive of left temporal high grade lesion. During surgery there was well...
متن کامل“Ancient” schwannoma of the submandibular gland
Rationale: Schwannomas are solitary neurogenic tumors that arise from cells of the neural sheath. Ancient schwannoma is a relatively rare variant of schwannoma, characterized by increased cellularity and atypia. These cellular changes could be confusing and make the accurate pathologic diagnosis difficult. Patient concerns and diagnoses: A 36-year-old man presented with painless swelling in lef...
متن کاملOrbital Cystic Schwannoma Originating from the Frontal Nerve
Schwannomas of the orbit are very rare benign neoplasms. Intraorbital cystic schwannomas originating from the frontal nerve are even rarer, with only 1 case reported to date. This is most likely due to the fact that, in most cases, the origin of the orbital schwannoma cannot be identified intraoperatively. The nerve origin is usually speculated from histological examination of the specimen and ...
متن کاملSchwannoma of the submandibular gland: a case report
INTRODUCTION Schwannoma is a benign, solitary, and slowly progressive encapsulated tumor originating from the sheath of myelinated nerve fibers. Schwannoma of the salivary gland is a particularly rare form of an extracranial neurogenic tumor. Here, we present an unusual case of a schwannoma of the submandibular gland in a 19-year-old man. Total excision of the submandibular gland resulted in co...
متن کاملSchwannoma derived from lingual nerve occurring in floor of mouth.
A schwannoma is a benign tumor composed of schwann cells which forms on the periphery of nerves. We report a case of a schwannoma derived from a lingual nerve occurring in the floor of the mouth. The patient was a 27-year-old woman who presented with the complaint of a swelling in the floor of the mouth. It is difficult to distinguish a swelling from a sublingual gland tumor, cyst, or malignant...
